Did you know that March 30th is National Take a Walk in the Park Day? Don’t know which park to do that in? Let us give you some suggestions for your walk in the park!
- Apex Community Park: 2200 Laura Duncan Rd. Apex, NC – Want to take a walk around the lake? This is the perfect park with more than 3 miles of walk away around a beautiful lake that you can fish, canoe or kayak in. Not just for walking, Apex Community Park has baseball/softball fields, soccer fields, sand volleyball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a nice playground area. This park has a section of climbing obstacles similar to America Ninja Warrior.
- Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve: 2616 Kildaire Farm Rd. Cary, NC – This is a great park to hike and walk and feel right out in the wild. The trails span past ridges, ravines, creeks, and hemlock trees (hence the name of the park).
- Apex Nature Park: 2600 Evans Rd. Apex, NC – Nestled in the middle of neighborhoods, Apex Nature Park offers a wide variety of activities. Ranging from pickle ball to tennis, from disc golf to ultimate frisbee, from basketball to soccer, this park has so many different courts, surfaces, and trails to play and walk on. Not to mention, there are sand volleyball courts, a dog park, an amphitheater, and a playground.
- Green Hills County Park: 9300 Deponie Dr. Raleigh, NC – This Northeast Raleigh park boasts excellent spaces for family fun time. Open fields for kite flying, playing frisbee, kicking soccer balls, or just throwing the ball around makes for an awesome day at the park. There are many picnic pavilions, playgrounds, and walking trails to complete your exercise for the day. Check out the awesome mountain bike skills course!
